UPDATE - JUNE 2008

KEVIN'S 6-MONTH CHECK UP

Kevin had his 6-month check up on May 1, 2008 at Kaiser Hospital in San Diego.  Dr. Steiner of UCSD came over to do the evaluation and meet with Kevin, which will be a standard appointment for Kevin every 6-months with the doctors at UCSD.  All tests and lab work indicated Kevin's new kidney is functioning just as the doctor's (both UCSD and Kaiser) feel it should be at this time.  Kevin is down to 13 pills in the am and 8 pills in the am. However, the UCSD and Kaiser did modify one of his meds, substituting the Prograf with Rapamune, thinking of Kevin's big picture -- taking care of the new kidney as long as possible.  Dr. Kay of Kaiser, currently has Kevin going the lab for blood work every week to monitor his new med.  He is back to work full-time, enjoying an occasional game of golf when not too busy at work and back to his passion of auto racing, as crew chief for Taylor Miinch in 2008.

DAVID'S 6-MONTH CHECK UP

David had his 6-month check on June 11, 2008, also at Kaiser (San Diego) and is progressing per wife, Susan.  He has been released to go back to his Kaiser Doctor, Dr. Chin, and his next check is scheduled in 2 months.  David also started a new job after the first of the year.
