LIFE IN THE FAST LANE SAN DIEGO
BLOOD BANK GALA - JANUARY 19, 2008
Friends, family and business associates
joined the families of Kevin Clark and David Beat for the First Annual "Life in the Fast Lane" Gala Saturday,
January 19. “Life in the Fast Lane” was a huge success, raising over $77,000 to help
the San Diego Blood Bank refurbish one of their aging bloodmobiles, which will increase the amount of blood collected in the
San Diego County area. The newly refurbished bloodmobile can collect approximately 9,000 pints annually.

FIRST CHECK UP AT UCSD SINCE RELEASE - NOVEMBER 15, 2007
Kevin and David (plus wives Debbie and Susan) made another trek to UCSD (San Diego) for their first checkups since
the November 7 kidney transplant. All was good according to the doctors and they look forward to seeing Kevin and David
for their next checkups. Kevin will be checked by the UCSD transplant team for 3 months after the surgery and then "every"
six months. David will be required to be checked again in six months and then released to Kaiser.

KEVIN READY TO LEAVE HOSPITAL - MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2007
After
David was released Friday, November 9 (one day earlier than doctors had planned), Kevin was required to stay at UCSD
until the following Monday, November 12 so that doctors could make sure that his levels with the new medications were right
where they needed to be after the November 7 transplant. You can see, Kevin is TOTALLY BOARD awaiting his release!

UCSD - DAY OF SURGERY - NOVEMBER 7, 2007
Kevin and David (along with
wives Debbie and Susan) arrived at UCSD early 6AM Wednesday morning for surgery. David was in surgery before Kevin for
about two hours then Kevin received the new kidney with a surgery taking about three hours. GREAT DAY!

UCSD - PreOp APPOINTMENT - NOVEMBER 1, 2007
Kevin and David arrived at UCSD early Thursday to do final blood work, meet with doctors, transplant
coordinator and case social worker and ask any last minute questions they had about the entire transplant procedure.
Debbie and Susan also attended.

BARONA VALLEY RANCH RESORT & CASINO - OCTOBER 19-20, 2007
David and Kevin took a day off in October to play some golf at the beautiful Barona Creek Golf Club
greens. Susan and Debbie later joined them for a delicious dinner at the steakhouse and overnight stay.
